Circular materials

Saving useful materials before they are lost.

Older buildings often contain stone, timber, doors, tiles, ironwork and fittings that can be used again. CHC wants to help those materials find the right next home.

01Identify

Notice what is worth saving before work begins.

02Record

Record what it is, where it came from and what condition it is in.

03Match

Put useful material in front of people who can make proper use of it.

04Reuse

Keep good material in use for longer.

Good materials should not be wasted.

Stone, timber, doors, floorboards, tiles, ironwork, bricks, slates and windows can all have reuse value. What can be accepted will depend on condition, safety, storage and whether there is a suitable project for it.
